Willunga Farmers Market Scholarship

$15,000 up for grabs for aspiring farmers

Applications for the Willunga Farmers Market Scholarship open Sunday, with $15,000 available to those interested in farming and growing produce.

With partnership support from Adelaide and Mount Lofty Ranges Natural Resources Management Board, the scholarship assists with tackling initial obstacles when entering the industry, such as access to land and equipment, and start-up capital.

Application packs will be available from the Willunga Farmers Market website from Sunday 15 April.

Over 12 months the scholarship will provide the successful applicant with:

  • $12,000 worth of start-up capital to grow primary produce on the Fleurieu Peninsula
  • $3,000 worth of mentorship in small business management and farming practises
  • A guaranteed weekly stall site and license to trade at Willunga Farmers Market to supply primary produce for two years, with the first six months of stall free of charge
  • Assistance in locating possible land on which to farm on the Fleurieu Peninsula, if necessary

Scholarship applications close Monday 8 May.
